You can read The Sovereign Independent without an account and without being tracked. This page explains what changes if you choose to sign up.

What we collect

• Account details — your email address, a display name, and a hashed password. We email you a one-time link to confirm the address is yours; unconfirmed accounts are never activated.
• Your activity on the site — articles you save and comments you post, tied to your account.
• Notifications — if you opt in to push notifications, the browser subscription needed to send them.
• Operational logs — short-lived request and error logs used to keep the site running. These may include your IP address.

What we don’t do

No advertising trackers, no selling or sharing of your data, no third-party analytics beyond what our host needs to serve the site. Bot protection on the sign-up form is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile.

Your choices

You can delete your comments, clear your saved articles, turn off notifications, or ask us to delete your account entirely by contacting us through the contact page.
